Prepare Sweet Potatoes:

Wash and peel the sweet potatoes. Cut them into chunks and boil until tender. Mash the sweet potatoes and measure out 2 cups.

Prepare Pie Crust:

If using a store-bought crust, follow the package instructions. If making your own, roll out the pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish, crimping the edges as desired.

Make the Filling:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes, melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, beaten eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix well until smooth.

Add Evaporated Milk:

Gradually add the evaporated milk to the sweet potato mixture, stirring until everything is well combined.

Fill the Pie Shell:

Pour the sweet potato filling into the unbaked pie crust, spreading it evenly

Bake:

Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 55-60 minutes or until the center is set. You can check for doneness by inserting a knife into the center; it should come out clean.

Cool and Serve:

. Allow the sweet potato pie to cool completely on a wire rack before serving. Optionally, top with whipped cream or a sprinkle of cinnamon before serving.
