Spaghetti Bolognese Recipe

Ingredients: – 1 pound (450g) ground beef – 1 onion, finely chopped – 2 cloves garlic, minced – 1 carrot, finely chopped – 1 celery stalk, finely chopped – 1 can (14 oz/400g) crushed tomatoes

– 2 tablespoons tomato paste – 1 cup (240ml) beef broth – 1/2 cup (120ml) red wine (optional) – 1 teaspoon dried oregano – 1 teaspoon dried basil – 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

– Salt and pepper to taste – 2 tablespoons olive oil – 1 pound (450g) spaghetti – Grated Parmesan cheese for serving – Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions: 1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

1. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through. 2. Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes, allowing it to caramelize slightly.

Pour in the crushed tomatoes, beef broth, and red wine (if using). Add the dried oregano, basil, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.

Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. You can simmer it longer for a richer flavor.

1. While the sauce is simmering, cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside. 2. Taste the Bolognese sauce and adjust the seasoning if needed.
