Caramel Pecan Pie

Ingredients 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust 36 individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped ¼ cup unsalted butter ¼ cup milk

¾ cup white sugar 3 large eggs ½ teaspoon vanilla extract ¼ teaspoon salt 1 cup pecan halves

Guidelines Compile every component. Set the oven's temperature to 350°F, or 175°C.

Melt butter, add milk, then stir in caramels in a saucepan over low heat. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring regularly, or until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth. Take off the heat and place aside.

In a large bowl, stir together sugar, eggs, vanilla, and salt. Stir in pecans after incorporating the heated caramel mixture gradually. Over the unbaked pie shell, pour filling.

Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown, in a preheated oven. Take out of the oven and place on a wire rack to cool for about 15 minutes, or until the filling is set.
