Pear Pie

Ingredients: For the Pie Crust: – 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour – 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed – 1/4 cup granulated sugar – 1/2 teaspoon salt – 1/2 cup ice water

For the Pear Filling: – 6-7 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced – 1/2 cup granulated sugar – 1/4 cup brown sugar – 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg – 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour – 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions: 1. Prepare the Pie Crust:In a food processor, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the cold, cubed butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.



– Gradually add the ice water, one tablespoon at a time, and pulse until the dough comes together. – Divide the dough in half, shape into two discs, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Preheat the Oven: – Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Pear Filling: – In a large bowl, combine the sliced pears, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, and lemon juice. Toss until the pears are evenly coated.

Roll Out the Pie Crust: – On a floured surface, roll out one disc of pie crust into a circle large enough to fit your pie dish.

Assemble the Pie: – Place the rolled-out crust into the pie dish, trimming any excess hanging over the edges. – Pour the pear filling into the crust.

Cool and Serve: – Allow the pear pie to cool for at least 2 hours before serving. This helps the filling set.
