Church Window Cookies

Ingredients: – 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter – 1 package (12 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – 3 cups miniature colored marshmallows – 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans work well)

Instructions: 1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. 2. Add the chocolate chips to the melted butter and stir continuously until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.

1. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. 2. Allow the chocolate mixture to cool slightly, then fold in the colored marshmallows and chopped nuts. Make sure they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

1. Lay out a sheet of wax paper or plastic wrap on the counter. 2. Spoon the chocolate mixture onto the prepared surface and shape it into a log or rectangle.

1. Roll the log or wrap the rectangle in the wax paper or plastic wrap, twisting the ends to secure it. 2. Place the wrapped log in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 2 hours or until firm.

Once the chocolate mixture is firm, unwrap and slice it into rounds to reveal the colorful "stained glass" effect.
