Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie

Ingredients: For the pie crust: – 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour – 1/2 teaspoon salt – 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cut into small pieces – 3 to 4 tablespoons ice water

For the filling: – 1 cup pecan halves – 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips – 3 large eggs – 1 cup light corn syrup – 1/2 cup granulated sugar

– 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar – 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted – 2 tablespoons bourbon – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – 1/4 teaspoon salt

Prepare the Pie Crust:a. In a food processor, combine the flour and salt. Add the chilled butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

With the processor running, slowly add the ice water until the dough comes together. c. Shape the dough into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Preheat the Oven:Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Filling:a. In a dry skillet, toast the pecans over medium heat until fragrant, about 5 minutes. Let them cool, then chop them coarsely. b. Sprinkle the chopped pecans and chocolate chips over the bottom of the pie crust.

Make the Filling Mixture:In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, bourbon, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.

1. Assemble the Pie:Pour the filling mixture over the pecans and chocolate chips in the pie crust. 2. Bake:Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 40-50 minutes or until the center is set.

3.  Cool:Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing. This will allow the filling to set. 4.  Serve:Slice the Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie and serve it at room temperature. Optionally, you can serve it with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
