Cherry Almond Charm Pie

Ingredients: For the crust: – 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour – 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed – 1/4 cup granulated sugar – 3 tablespoons cold water

For the filling: – 4 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted – 1 cup granulated sugar – 1/4 cup cornstarch – 1/4 teaspoon almond extract – 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the almond crumb topping: – 1/2 cup all-purpose flour – 1/2 cup granulated sugar – 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened – 1/2 cup sliced almonds

Instructions: 1. Preheat the oven:Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the crust: – In a food processor, combine the flour, sugar, and cold cubed butter. Pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. – Add cold water one tablespoon at a time, pulsing after each addition until the dough just comes together.

Make the filling: – In a large bowl, mix together the pitted cherries, sugar, cornstarch, almond extract, and vanilla extract. Set aside to allow the flavors to meld.

Roll out the crust: – Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to fit your pie dish. Place the crust in the pie dish and trim the excess.
